We've been following the sound of Sivan Askayo's camera clicks since we launched Gentedimontagna, so we're thrilled to showcase some of the Tel Aviv-based photographer's work as part of our closer look at the latest installment of our 24 Best series, 24 Best Travel Photographers.

Tell us a little about yourself.

I am an Israeli who recently moved back to Tel Aviv after living in New York City for twelve years. I love shooting travel stories for magazines such as T+L, Conde Nast Traveller, Lonely Planet, and various in-flight magazines. My travel photography always includes four elements — landscapes, portraits, interiors, and food — and they all work together. A recent assignment took me to Tanzania and Zanzibar, where I photographed mostly luxury hotels for a client, but included the surrounding area and people. I recently took vacation in Sicily, though I could not stop shooting those four elements.

How would you describe your style?

I think my style tends to be very editorial; I am always thinking about an editorial point of view. I ask myself how I can deliver the most information in a single frame while strongly believing in the idea of "less is more." I tend to look for strong colors and textures and try to use light to give images another dimension.

What do you love most about photographing on the road?

Every day is different than the previous one!

Where are you headed next?

Portugal and Spain on assignment for a new wine story.
