Luxury train travel had a moment this past year, thanks in part to Kenneth Branagh’s remake of Murder on the Orient Express. Could 2018 be all about luxury bus travel? Maybe. In the northern part of the Indian state of Kerala, gods come alive during an ancient ritual said to predate Hinduism: Theyyam. Rotterdam is great for architecture and designer lovers. The iconic De Rotterdam building designed by Rem Koolhaas and De Erasmusbrug is a worthwhile site (take the water taxi to see it from the water), and so is the recently renovated Het Industriegebouw, an old industrial building turned co-working complex that houses shops and companies like MVRDV, the architects behind Rotterdam's De Markthal and Seoul’s Sky Garden. In bustling Hoogkwartier, go to for all-day breakfast, for tacos, for local design, and for delicious pizzas. – Pauline,
